Territory Leader

MMD was commissioned to undertake the major refit work required to upgrade Territory Leader. The project involved major structural modifications to the vessel, removal and replacement of all processing gear including the supporting decks, redesign of trunking and trawl booms, design of a new net winch and upgrading the vessel's stability.

Australia Bay II

After the successful completion of Territory Leader, MMD was commissioned to carry out the engineering work to refit a 22 metre trawler. To assure survey compliance, MMD's involvement began prior to purchase, with a detailed structural inspection and preliminary stability review, and finished two years later, upon the receipt of an approved stability booklet.

Discovery III

MMD were contracted to assist in the conversion of a commercial fishing vessel to a training vessel. Understanding the clients importance for solutions that had minimal financial impact, MMD paid specific attention to engineering solutions that were not build or material intensive. Upon completion of the project survey approval was received for all submissions with no comments or recommendations.

Ashmore Guardian

Due to our long relationship with MG Kailis and our detailed knowledge of their fleet, MMD were engaged by the new owners of this vessel, Gardline Australia, to carry out the design and stability work for the conversion of Roper K from a fisheries support vessel to Australian Customs Base Vessel for Ashmore Reef. This conversion was completed and the vessel has been on station since March 2008.
