| Employee ProfilesKen McAlpineManaging Director, Senior Naval Architect Ken graduated in Naval Architecture at the University of New South Wales in 1981 following 10 years of extensive experience in small craft design with a prominent consulting naval architect in Sydney. He established MMD in Sydney in 1986 but later relocated the business to Fremantle, Western Australia in order to service the burgeoning aluminium boat building industry. Ken continues as the Managing Director of MMD contributing 40 years of experience and expertise into every project MMD undertakes. Shaun RitsonDirector, Senior Naval Architect Shaun studied Naval Architecture at the Australian Maritime College, graduating in 1994. Shaun practised in the field of marine propeller and propulsion system design before joining MMD in 1995. Shaun has lectured on small craft design at the Centre for Marine Science & Technology at Curtin University. In addition to his involvement in all aspects of vessel design Shaun also assumes principle responsibility for the preparation of risk assessments. Sean CribbNaval Architect Sean completed his Naval Architecture degree at the University of New South Wales in 2004. Prior to studying Naval Architecture, Sean worked in warehouse and transport operations. After university he worked in the defence industry specialising in Finite Element Analysis and stability before he moved to MMD in 2006. Sean has assumed responsibility for MMD’s Quality Management System since completing his ISO 9001.2008 Internal Auditors’ Course in 2009. KRISTOFER RETTKENaval Architect Kris completed his studies at the University of New South Wales in 2007, graduating with the David Carment Memorial Prize and Medal. His industrial training was completed in Germany where he specialised in 3D modelling and conceptual design of small FRP vessels. Kris is currently Chairman of the RINA WA committee. Kevin Le MeurNaval Architect Kevin completed his studies at the University of Southampton in 2008. He has studied composites in France to become a composite technician. Upon completion of his degree Kevin worked for several yacht design companies in both England and France BIANCA burnsNaval Architect Bianca completed her studies at the Australian Maritime College in 2008. Her industrial training was completed in at Austal Ships in Henderson WA where she specialised in structural design, finite element analysis and weight and moment control.
