| AUTUMN NEWSAt the close of 2009 we continued to work closely with DOT WA in the application of the new NSCV code. MMD provided expertise in the structural and engineering design of an 18m utility workboat which was recently delivered by SBF Shipbuilders in Henderson. Work is currently underway for the construction of a 22m sister ship. Our team has provided extensive syncro lift technical docking calculations in the past. The most recent example of this was a 30m, 55t Bollard Pull tractor tug for Pearl Engineering. The company launched into 2010 with several new and exciting projects: Expanding on the diversity of our scope of work, MMD is pleased to announce our involvement in two new land sculptures for Mandurah and Geraldton. MMD has assisted in the operational upgrade of customs vessel ‘Triton’. The Phase 1 Reverse Osmosis plant on Barrow Island has now been commissioned, which includes the MMD design pump pontoon and associated pipeline. Finally, we conclude with an update on the ‘Everest of sailing’ (Volvo Open 70). The senior staff began work on managing the Volvo Open 70 rule. With start date set for October 2011 in Spain, this looks to be a thrilling event judging by the increasing team entries received to date. With an increased workload MMD welcomed a new staff member in 2010. The company looks forward to continuing to diversify their expertise as the year progresses with future projects. |
